Dr. Hoffmann has over fifteen years of experience in global health. Starting with her Peace Corps service (1998 – 2000, Philippines), her work spans Africa, Asia, Dr. Hoffmann has over fifteen years of experience in global health. Starting with her Peace Corps service (1998 – 2000, Philippines), her work spans Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United States. She believes that one should listen to a community’s needs prior to developing an approach – the essence of community-engaged programming. Her technical foci include child health, malaria, mental health, and physical activity, among others. She has worked for USAID and non-governmental organizations, and consulted for a wide variety of donor entities. Dr. Hoffmann has worked with Ministries of Health to develop National Behavior Change and Communication Strategies as well as assist in their implementation from national to community level. She has a strong skill set in innovative qualitative design and analysis, as well as blending qualitative analyses with quantitative data for a more robust mixed methods approach. Since May 2013, Dr. Hoffmann has served as President and Senior Technical Advisor of INSIGHT: Innovative Social Change in Global Health, LLC, a Women-Owned Small Business consulting firm. In this capacity, she provides leadership and technical assistance related to social and behavior change communication (SBCC) and community based participatory research (CBPR) in a variety of capacities including: innovative qualitative research; capacity building; facilitation and training of trainers; strategic participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation; program design and implementation; strategy development; and technical reports, peer review articles, and proposal writing.
