Tanimoune is a Public Health Nutritionnist with some 10 year experience in Both Humanitarian Emergency and Development Nutrition in West and eastern Africa. I am currently working in WFP Rwanda office as Nutritionnist and coordinator of a four UN Agencies—United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the World Food Programme (WFP)— multisectoral approach to effectively fight chronic under nutrition two Districts by targeting the same households with different interventions for a more efficient and cost effective delivery of nutrition services. It’s a 3-year project mainly funded by Swiss Developement Cooperation. A major objective of this programme is demonstrating efficiency of delivering a coordinated nutrition program which combines 5 components : (1) Enrich and fortify children’s diets and promote optimal feeding practices, using existing outreach and capacity structures; (2) Improve local production and consumption of nutritious and safe foods; (3) Access to appropriate food supplements for the most vulnerable to prevent stunting; (4) Enhance information on dietary needs and nutritional status; and (5) Coordinate, monitor and evaluate. Approximately 150,000 children under the age of two years and 200,000 PLW are expected to benefit from the project during its operation from August 2014 through June 2016. additionally I am managing the refugee operation including Infant and Young Child feeding component ( complementary feeding and nutrition education and counselling). I am interested in IYCF specifically complementary and diet diversity behaviour change strategies.
