Bogotá Colombia
I am a colombian anthropologist trained in film and TV in the UK . We have nearly 30 years experience in producing high quality media and TV content for social change and development, with a rights perspective and a public policy influence goal : mainstream public TV international documentaries on Colombia´s conflict, public TV, children´s TV ( we promoted this sector in Colombia and it is now a leader in the region) . I have been personally and as an organization been involved in the Communication for Social Change debate and dialogue since 1997, when the Rockefeller Foundation convened a series of discussions and meetings on the C4D field . As a result of the CFSC debates and conclusions, we created Imaginario in 2000 , a Colombian civil society organization focused in knowledge management , facilitating discussion and networking on C4D, CFSC, media development, schools TV, edutainment and communication as a central component of development interventions in the public sector . Our partnership based Edutainment platform Revela2.tv , which we have led since 2005 , on adolescents and youth´s DHSR and teen pregnancy prevention, is unique in Colombia because of its evidence based, social and behavior change perspective and knowledge management approach . We have been also have been centrally involved in the development and implementation of The Communication Initiative´s latinamerican platform - La Iniciativa de Comunicación - www.comminit.com /la - which has positioned our region´s thinking and practice , and consolidated a vibrant network and platform. To be able to participate in the International SBCC Summit in Addis is a huge opportunity, not only to learn more form peers to strengthen our local work in edutainment , but as one of the very few latinamericans present, we have a commitment to share this knowledge with our network .
